Dr. Shloimie (Steven) Zimmerman, Psy.D
Dr. Shloimie Zimmerman, Psy.D., is a preeminent licensed clinical psychologist and the visionary founder of our leading multi-disciplinary mental health practice. Dr. Zimmerman has done groundbreaking work in child development, education, abuse prevention, trauma, and rabbinic training. That, along with his authorship of the best-selling book “From Boys to Men: Guiding our sons and students in the ways of Kedushah,” positions him as a key figure in the field of psychology.
At the heart of Dr. Zimmerman’s achievements is his establishment of Child & Adult Psychological Services, where he hand-picked a team of world-class mental health professionals. This elite team, skilled in various specializations, collaborates under his leadership to offer comprehensive services to clients, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health care.
In addition to leading Child & Adult Psychological Services, Dr. Zimmerman is the Director of the Rabbinic Clinical Training Program, for SIMHA (Sephardic Initiative for Mental Health Awareness). He is also a world-renowned speaker and consultant for many yeshivos and non-profits. Dr. Zimmerman chairs the advisory boards of Amudim and Magen New York. Additionally, he co-founded and was the President and Gabbai of a shul for 12 years. Residing in New York with his wife and their five unique and precocious children, Dr. Zimmerman’s personal experiences enrich his professional perspective, making him a compassionate and effective leader in mental health.
OUR HISTORY
Child & Adult Psychological Services emerged from Dr. Shloimie Zimmerman’s vision to transform mental health care. Witnessing the limitations in traditional practices, where therapists worked in isolation and often lacked qualifications for comprehensive care, Dr. Zimmerman was inspired to create a more holistic and proficient approach.
He founded Child & Adult Psychological Services as a solution to these challenges. Our innovative model focuses on providing integrated mental health services across an individual’s lifespan, ensuring continuity and depth of treatment. Dr. Zimmerman hand-selected a team of outstanding professionals, each with unique training and specializations in different aspects of mental health, to work collaboratively under one roof.
